The Short Hole Golf Open Championship Trophy, ‘The Inches Trophy’,
was presented in 1904 for annual competition by Councillor Robert Kirk Inches,
co-founder of Hamilton & Inches Ltd, Edinburgh.
Since the Championship was inaugurated in 1904, Hamilton & Inches Ltd have
continued to present gilt, silver and bronze medals to the Champion, runner-up
and semi-finalists. The Club is extremely grateful for this longstanding tradition.
The Championship is open to all amateur golfers aged 14 years or over.
